Cooper Farms, Inc. is located in Corcoran, CA. The farm is a family owned and operated organization. They are very cost conscious, and the result of this efficiency is a very profitable operation. The farm was incorporated in 1955. It was initially 700 acres and is now 1,300 acres. They raise such crops as cotton, alfalfa, wheat and barley. Dairy farms in this region acknowledge that Cooper Farms grows premium alfalfa hay. Tim Cooper is Vice President and Greg Cooper is Secretary. They maintain a very large array of equipment, including a Caterpillar 65 Challenger. It was purchased in 1989 and has since operated 4,000 hours using LE's 8800 MONOLEC ULTRA® Engine Oil. John Deere wheel tractors, models 4430, 2940 and 4010 are used to do row crop work, utility work, cultivating and planting. Harvesters are manufactured by John Deere - models 9900 and 9910, and a John Deere Swather is used for hay cutting and baling. The New Holland model 1116 is used for baling, and models 622 International Harvesters are used for cotton picking. The Flint sprayer is equipped with a Wisconsin D4 engine. A Chevrolet model 350, one ton truck with a propane fueled engine is used for general farm work. They maintain a very large array of equipment, including a Caterpillar 65 Challenger. Cooper Farms has been enjoying the benefits of using a variety of LE lubricants since 1978 to insure long service life and protect their investment in equipment. LE's 8800 MONOLEC ULTRA Engine Oil has been used in the farm fleet since 1978. Diesel tractors, some with 8,000 to 10,000 hours of service, have never required overhauls due to wear. LE's 8800 has considerably extended engine life in the John Deere. Prior to using LE's 8800, overhauls were required at 3,000 to 4,000 hours, especially in the critical crankshaft and rod bearing areas.

diesel and gasoline engines. It provides fuel efficiency while reducing wear. Because it is a multi-viscosity SAE 15W-40 engine oil, it provides all-season, all-weather performance. Tim Cooper believes he could run LE's 8800 longer between changes, but wants a large margin of safety on their expensive equipment. LE's 8800 has more than paid its way with a minimum 100% increase in oil drain intervals and extension of engine life.

LE's 8800 MONOLEC ULTRA® Engine Oil is made from 100% select paraffinic base oils and contains MONOLEC®, LE's exclusive wear-reducing additive. It exceeds the requirements of Mack, Caterpillar, International Harvester, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, Ford, GM, Allison and a variety of other manufacturers. Cooper Farms estimates that their equipment operates in severe off-road conditions at least 65% of the time.

LE's 607ALMASOL® Vari-Purpose Gear Lubricant is used in all gearboxes and final drives. Excellent service life has been realized out of the gearboxes and final drives. As an example, Z-E's 607 has been used over 10,000 hours in Caterpillar D6CSA final drives without an overhaul. In November of 1985, the local Caterpillar dealer replaced a bearing set on the Caterpillar D6CSA left side final drive and commented on how good the gear and bearings sets looked after such long, uninterrupted use in heavy farm service. The dealer commented the norm for this type of service is 5,000 hours.

Because farm service gearboxes are subjected to a variety of environmental conditions, it is important that the lubricant coat and protect the internal components thoroughly. Because LE's 607 ALMASOL Vari-Purpose Gear Lubricant is formulated for heavy-duty EP service, and has the added benefit of protection from ALMASOL®, LE's exclusive wear-reducing additive, it is able to withstand excessive shock and heavy loading. Since it is long lasting in service, it provides extended drain intervals. LE's 607 maintains excellent water resistance and is nonfoaming. Since LE's 607 is very adhesive, it clings to the gears and can reduce frictional heat, which in turn, reduces overheating, providing much cooler oil temperatures in the gearboxes. LE's 607 also keeps seals soft and pliable, keeping makeup oil at a minimum

John Deere harvester, model 9900, is used for cotton picking. It is protected with LE's 3751 ALMAGARD Vari-Purpose Lubricant and LE's 7500 MONOLEC Power Fluid.

John Deere wheel tractor, model 2940, is one of the tractors used for row crop work, cultivating and planting.

LE's 6401 and 6403 MONOLEC® Turbine Oils are used in the GE 60, 75,100 and 125 hp vertical deep well turbine pump electric motor bearings which provide irrigation water for the farm.

LE's 3751 ALMAGARD® Vari-Purpose Lubricant is used in all wheel bearings on all equipment. Bearings on the John Deere Swather cutting head and knife are experiencing exceptional service life since the use of LE's 3751. This lubricant seals out the corrosive juices from the alfalfa cuttings and will not emulsify, melt or pound out, even during 14 to 15 hour work days. With LE's 3751 on the Darf hay rake, the rake bushings (1-1/2" bronze bushing) which have no seals are greased only every 20 hours. There has been 50% less shaft wear with LE's 3751 than with the previous commercial grade grease.

LE's 3751 ALMAGARD Vari-Purpose Lubricant is a multi-functional lubricant that provides extended service even under extreme conditions. It can be used in all types of vehicles, both on and off-road. The lubricant is very tacky and offers excellent water resistance. LE's 3751 maintains excellent extreme pressure characteristics and will not pound out even under severe conditions, providing an excellent seal against all outside contaminants in this dusty environment. Because of this, LE's 3751 provides an excellent rust and corrosion barrier. The 70 Ib. Timken OK Load provides wear-reducing capabilities under the most severe loads.

Storage area for LE lubricants

The John Deere and International Harvester cotton pickers have run virtually trouble-free in the critical cam tracks in the picking heads. LE's 3751 ALMAGARD Vari-Purpose Lubricant will not melt or pound out in this severe application. Grease consumption is far less than it was with commercial grade grease in this type of service.

The Caterpillar 65 Challenger uses LE's 8430 MONOLEC® GFS Engine Oil in the transmission with excellent results. LEAP (Lubrication Engineers Analysis Program) is performed annually, which is approximately 1,200 hours per year. Little wear is showing and LE's 8430 is in excellent condition.
