CLARIFIERS IN THE WASTEWATER TREATMENT PROCESS

FEATURED PRODUCT: 9220-9460 MONOLEC Synthetic Industrial Lubricants

Lubrication Engineers' 9220-9460 MONOLEC Synthetic Industrial Lubricants are fully synthetic oils ideal for applications where extreme temperatures are encountered. Formulated to provide excellent thermal stability and oxidation resistance, 9220-9460 can be used in heavily loaded bearings requiring oil lubrication or heavy-duty enclosed industrial gearboxes. Benefits of the 9220-9460 MONOLEC include:

- Viscosity remains stable despite temperature fluctuations: The high viscosity index of 9220-9460 reduces the change in viscosity with extreme high/low temperatures.

- Will not foam in operation: Foaming can be detrimental to the oil as it promotes oxidation and reduces its lubricating properties, leading to lubricant starvation; 9220-9460 are completely non-foaming in service.

- Extends oil drain intervals: Because these are formulated with PAO synthetic base oils, they will not oxidize or form hard carbon deposits, thus extending the life of the oil and reducing maintenance and labour costs.

- Minimizes component wear: 9220-9460 contain MONOLEC, Lubrication Engineers' proprietary additive that increases oil film strength without affecting tolerances.

9220-9460 MONOLEC Synthetic Industrial Lubricants are food grade approved by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and may be used in food processing applications where there is no possibility of contact with the product. Typical applications include roll mill bearings found in textile, plastic, rubber and paper industries.

TECHNI-TIP: Clarifiers in the Wastewater Treatment Process

Clarifiers are the heart of the wastewater processing system and proper maintenance of this equipment can be extremely challenging due to the constant presence of harsh contaminates, such as acids, moisture and dirt.

The primary function of clarifiers includes the rapid collection and removal of large and fine solids, grease and scum. Because these impurities interfere with subsequent processes, clarification is usually the first step and it involves screening, solids grinding, and differential settling in flotation tanks. Flocculators are used to hasten the settling process and thickeners to increase sludge density.

CUSTOMER TESTIMONIAL: 9220 MONOLEC Synthetic Industrial Lubricant

"We have never seen anything better, so why would we choose another lube company? It simply is the best investment for our money."

The City of Seaford Wastewater Treatment Plant, located in Delaware, treats over two million gallons of water per day. This facility is one of America's best plants due to its continuous upgrades and programs to increase production values. Several Eimco gearboxes are used in the process basins that operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 9220 MONOLEC Synthetic Industrial Lubricant was selected for these gearboxes due to its excellent thermal stability and oxidation resistance. The oil has been in service for over 7 years and its condition has been monitored through oil analysis. It still looks like new and there are no signs of component wear!
